Hoop Hustler 100 Camp Review

 In AAU Basketball, Articles

Lawrenceville, GA – We hosted our first annual Hoop Hustlers 100 Camp this past Saturday and it didn’t disappoint. 85 players registered for the camp and we had a great turnout. We structured our camp a little different than most and thought it was very competitive. We used this camp to evaluate players.

Kannaan Carlyle – Atlanta (Milton HS) 2023

I had a chance to see Kannaan Carlyle up close and personal – yes I have seen him play multiple times and he never disappointed, but being able to coach him and put him through drills I was able to see the intangibles like the hard work, the dog and how he liked to be challenged. Kannaan Carlyle is one of the best guards, if not the best guard, in the country. I look forward to following him at Milton this year.

Jens Rueckert – Cobb – (McEachern HS) 2021

Jens Rueckert was by far the most athletic player at the camp and he didn’t waste time displaying that with his electrifying dunks and blocks. Jens is a Junior at McEachern, and it is going to be interesting to see how coach Thompson uses him. It’s going to be hard for anybody to fill Isaac Okoro’s shoes but from an athletic standpoint Jens has the ability.

Jaylen Jackson – Douglas Co – (Douglas, Ga) 2021

Junior Jaylen Jackson should be on a short list of D1 prospects here in the local area. At 6’5 he plays super hard and has guard skills. Jaylen rebounds well for his size and likes to be coached.

Jahki Howard – Renfroe Middle (Decatur) 2024

If you haven’t heard of Jahki Howard, well let me introduce you to him because you will hear about him a lot moving forward. The 6’4 wing is an 8th grader at Renfroe Middle School in Decatur, Ga and he just moved to the greater Atlanta area from Boston. Jahki played above the rim at the Hoop Hustlers 100 Camp and it was hard to believe that this kid was only in the 8th grade. If Jahki continues to develop, mark my words, he will be one of the best players to ever come out of Georgia. That’s the impression he left on me.

Tahj Johnson – Hart County (Hartwell, Ga) 2023

Tahj at 6’7 can run the floor, rebound and score at will. I think this kid has a bright future and it wouldn’t surprise me with a little more work that he could be one of the best recruits in the country. Tahj caught my eye at this year’s Freshman U, where he was clearly the best player there. We put a High major prediction on this kid and we know for him that shouldn’t be hard to live up to that prediction.

Ammarion Jones – Shiloh – (Snellville, Ga) 2023

Freshman PG Ammarion Jones is a smooth PG that has the potential to be one of the top 2023 guards in Georgia. He possesses a silky-smooth dribble and knows how to finish with either hand around the rim.

Darius Washington III (Orlando) – 2024

Darius is a very gifted player and it was on full display at this year’s Hoop Hustlers 100 Camp Middle School. If he continues to develop his craft he can easily be a player we talk about in the near future.
