UA Best of the Best Middle School Camp Review
Under Armour Best of the Best Middle School Camp Review:
Atlanta, GA– Benjamin E Mays hosted the 2018 UA Best of the Best Middle School camp. About 75 players were in attendance. Players were from the south eastern states of Florida, Alabama, Georgia, South Carolina plus more.
Kymel Williams: 8th grade PG, played very well at the camp, he pushed the ball in transition better than any guard at the camp. Kymel was also explosive going to the basket. Kymel won MVP of the All-Star Game. He plays travel ball with Elite 2.0
Rodrigo Farias: 8th grade CG from Palmer Middle School showed off his ability to get to the rim with ease. Farias displayed this ability when games were played. He finished with both hands and for an 8th grader that’s impressive. Rodrigo Farias plays for DCA during the summer, we look forward to seeing him at next year’s at “The Tip-Off Classic”
Ja’Mari Arnold: 8th grade PG from Huntsville, Alabama played very well during the 5 on 5. He displayed the ability to handle the ball in stressful situations and to find open teammates. He also plays with DCA during the travel season and attends Chapman Middle School in Huntsville, Alabama.
Charlie Reisman: 8th grade SG from Gainesville, GA. Charlie displayed the ability to shoot the basketball and attack the rim, he was easily one of the top skilled players at the camp. Charlie plays travel ball for Nike South Elite and attends Gainesville Middle School.
Dylan Johnson: 7th grade CG from Woodward Academy Middle School. Dylan was around the ball at all times, knocking down shots, playing intense defense and going to the rack. He wasn’t the biggest on the court, but he played big. He plays for the Atlanta Celtics during the travel season.
Jaiun Simon: at 6’4 he was the best post player at the camp – he finished around the rim with both hands. He rebounded very well and was able to start the break – if this kid continues to grow and work on his craft, he will be a player to watch. He and Ja’mari played on the same team at the camp. They both play for DCA and the chemistry was apparent.
Kyle Jones: the 8th grade Guard/Forward did very well when I watched him in drills. He was one of the best skilled players at the camp. Kyle drove to the basket at will and what was really special about him was that he used his body to get open and that’s rare in 8th grade. Kyle Jones attends Break Creek Middle in Fairburn, Ga.
